Heat Network Skills Workshop Perth | EST

Energy Saving Trust on behalf of the Scottish Government would like to invite you to attend a workshop in Perth on 14 November to get your views on developing skills for the heat network sector.

The Scottish Government’s plan for Scotland to become a net zero society by 2045 is likely to have a big impact on our country’s heat network sector. The current heat network supply chain is immature and the capacity of existing players does not reflect the scale of the sector which is set to expand rapidly.

This free event aims to consult with key stakeholders (including heat network operators and contractors) to help us identify:

  • any specific skills and training gaps in the sector
  • how skills should be developed moving forward.

Organised by the Energy Saving Trust on behalf of the Scottish Government and in partnership with the Energy Skills Partnership (ESP), it’s part of a wider heat network skills project which, working with industry colleges and universities aims to:

  • develop suitable accredited training courses and modules to promote best practice, and
  • create or enhance employment opportunities in areas where heat networks are being developed or already exist.

Ultimately, it’s hoped this will lead to improved heat network operator service provision and reduced costs for both operators and customers.

Speakers confirmed so far:

  • Scottish Government
  • Balfour Beatty
  • Logstor
  • Aberdeen Heat and Power
  • The Smart City Alliance

A free lunch and refreshments will be provided.
