Bristol | Sweden Future Cities Summit

Bristol City Council, Business Sweden and Business West are organising the Bristol | Sweden Future Cities Summit, which will address “The Pathway to Sustainable Cities” through innovation, green energy, sustainable transport solutions and connectivity. Including stakeholders from industry, research and city council the day will mark a beginning to closer collaboration for the future of sustainable cities.

The Summit will address “The Pathway to Sustainable Cities” through innovation, green energy, sustainable transport solutions and connectivity. Including stakeholders from industry, research and the council the day will mark a beginning of collaboration for the future of sustainable cities.The programme for the day includes:

  • Smart Cities from a Swedish Perspective – Looking at how Sweden views a future city, what lessons we can draw from previous efforts and the importance of innovation and collaboration.
  • Bristol’s first Smart City Strategy – Connecting Bristol – Building on lessons learnt in innovation, Bristol will present how we plan to innovate responsibly over the next five years.
  • The Low Carbon City – Creating a fossil free future through city-wide energy solutions, such as sustainable heating and cooling, energy storage and Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Sustainable Urban Transport – Looking at the role that electric vehicles can play in the future city to improve citizens’ way of life and support a low-emission, low-noise and less crowded environment for everyone.
  • The Connected City – Connectivity through fiber and open data access, allowing for all the technologies required for a truly smart and sustainable city of the future.
  • The Path to a Sustainable Smart City – A panel discussion with industry, members, council officers and the third sector.

0900 – 0930 – Event Registration

0930 – Summit Opens

1700 – Networking Reception. The Summit will conclude with a networking reception where attendees will be able to come together to discuss opportunities and further collaboration. This is included in the Summit ticket, however if you are only available to come for the Reception, please register for this separately.
